F1 Software Page News

This page contains all the little changes and other bits which we do to the entire website. Stuff that appears here, may not neccesarilly appear on the main page in the breif news section. It will also contain all the little updates I do on each of the games as time goes by. This section is to be used as reference only.

(11/17/2000) Changed the page to reflect the changes we were doing on the Jelly game. Instead of using Dark Basic to write it, we are going to be using C++, and also will be working on the GameBoy version using GBDK. Its quite exciting to see the 2 versions being developed alongside each other!! As soon as we get some screenshots for each version, we will definately post them! I can tell you the PC version is in a sizeable window, and can be played anywhere from full-screen, down to the size of a postage stamp!! Currently the programming diaries represent the older version of the game, they will be changed in due time to reflect the status of each version of the game on each platform. A new Amiga and Mac version is also going to be a possibility, though we are not entirely sure yet how it will look or work. More info as we get it.

We have been collecting screenshots from more of our older demos and games, and very soon I will place the details on the page. I got 9 more games, and around 6 demo's we had worked on. I havent even begun to go through any of our unreleased code yet!!
(10/30/00) Added information regarding our AmiBud pogram to the main pages, to begin generating interest for all those who wish to know more about the project.
(10/29/00)

Lost the HTML file I was working on, hadn't uploaded it to the server so was kinda screwed!! Anyways, tonnes of changes once more have appeared on our pages. I'll try and make a table of all the ones which pop to the top of my head!!

  • Completely re-written the downloads section, by placing Amiga and seperate PC sections. Only the Amiga section is near completion, placed all our available Amiga products on there, with descriptions, programming details, and links to download them off of our servers. In the next few weeks, we will begin to add all our programs and routines which were never officially released to the public, which involves a good 20+ programs!!
  • Changed many of the page layouts to reflect new & currently being improved sections.
  • Changed the information for Jelly Othelly, even posted a couple of new screenshots and game details. Will write an official description of the game when development gets closer to completion. Right now things are going slower until the new Dark Basic patch is released (so the game is more compatible on machines other than Windows 98 SEcond Edition).
(07/8/2000) Hmmm, so much done since the last update! Dont know where to start! Well, I moved the server to a DSL line, so it is incredibly fast now. Moved out of my current abode to live with friends for a while, and kinda "borrowed" their connection. The transition is permanant until I get my own DSL line. Also altered almost every single page, added new bits and pieces everywhere, filled in some sections which had no information at all, plus a whole whoard of other bits and pieces which i'll let you discover for yourself!!

Uploaded brand-new screenshots for Jelly Othelly, showing some of the new fonts & graphics. Updated game descriptions for Twinz & Aztec challenge

Also began public advertising for people wanting to test Jelly Othelly, as im getting extremely close to releasing the first beta version. Also sent mails to the DB mailing lists, and posted to the DB forum on the Dark Basic website.
(06/17/2000) Finally got some time to myself to work on these pages with a large significant amount of updates. Will begin to address each issue as the weekend goes by!

Fixed numerous HTML errors throughout the entire pages, such as links not going anywhere, the DB banner not working properly, and added search-engine keywords & descriptions to most of the pages on the site. Changed a lot of areas around a little bit, to ensure adequate updating in the future without too many problems.

Added a new PageNews page (this one!!) and also a page for the current
status of all of F1 Software's projects, allowing anyone to see exactly where I am on the game.
(06/02/2000) Web server upgraded to ISDN 128k line, for faster, more reliable access. Previously it was on a 56K modem, and we naturally had lots of problems. Right now, the server runs very well, and easily reaches everyone without any problems.
(05/05/2000) New Jelly Othelly screenshots added. Previously, we didnt have any screenshots for Jelly, so I quickly threw together a few examples and put them here. These pics are still early, so keep an eye out for updated (and cleaner) ones coming very soon!
